So apparently the Saints Row The Third Soundtrack leaked.

Update: 11/01/11 - It seems that the list is legit. The setlist is making its way around the blogosphere coming straight from THQ. Score one for sketchy internet leaks!

Oh the internet. It's amazing how you can be browsing random videogame forums and suddenly see the entire soundtrack for one of your most anticipated games of the year. Sure, you may be skeptical at first. I mean, none of these post provide any context, backstory or explanation to how this information was obtained. Rather, they just dive straight to the point and list all the songs. The funny thing? For some weird reason, that makes them seem even more legit. I'm probably breaking some sort of videogame news blogging rule by crediting this to Anonymous over at 4chan and Blitzrules240 over at the IGN forums (bet that dude's stoked for the new NFL Blitz game), but whatever. The hype train is in motion and I'm on board. Choo choo.

You can check out the supposed soundtrack after the jump.

Like the previous Saints Row games (and even the last bunch of Grand Theft Auto titles), the soundtrack is broken up into different radio stations. Each station is based around a particular genre and will most likely have a radio personality to help introduce songs and add random chatter.

I don't know about you guys, but there's something about licensed videogame soundtracks that make me giddy inside. Sure it's a way to see if your favourite artist is getting some attention, but I've found videogames to be a great tool to discover new musicians and even genres.

While not a huge fan of sports and racing games, I always get a kick (;D) out of looking up what tracks they end up including. Open-world games are no exception. However, the latter has the added bonus of including radio stations (including he radio personalities and the nifty commercials). This little touch is something I've appreciated ever since I first experienced it in Grand Theft Auto III (which is reaching its 10th anniversary soon. How old do you feel?). The whole radio format really does add to the "living world" feel that these sandbox games do strive for. Plus they're entertaining. That's always a good thing.

Being a huge fan of music, a solid soundtrack can end up adding to the current hype I have for a game. If this list is accurate, Saints Row The Third looks to be no exception. Is it doing the same for you? If you're on the fence, no worries. Saints Row The Third comes your way in less than a month, with a release date of November 15th. GET HYPE.
